Profile
VBA is a design-led practice undertaking projects that connect the built form with the land. Focusing on delivering functional, aesthetic and sustainable environments tailored from your brief and budget. We work across residential, multi-residential, hospitality and retail; delivering design solutions for your site and surrounding context.
The practice was founded by Virginia Barlow in 2018 after a successful career in Australia, London and New Zealand, enabling her passion for design and sustainable methodologies while also acknowledging Papatuanuku and designing for the extreme climate conditions.

Working with Virginia on my new home was a great experience and the whole process was very enjoyable. She was always efficient, things happened when she said they would and she formed a strong rapport with the builders which helped the project run smoothly.
The house works perfectly with the location and as it was being built I'd notice small features of the design that made the most of the views and sunshine on the section. All this added up to a house that has the X-factor of feeling good to walk into.
